I don’t know what it is with Kaia these days, all she wants to do is eat snacks! When it comes to sitting in her highchair for a meal, it literally is a struggle. I had to google this to see if this was normal toddler behavior and it sure was. (They are claiming their independence right now supposedly…) Ok, now when will this phase end, because I want to pull my hair out when it comes to meal time?! Do any of you other mama’s have this problem? If so, what are some of your tips and tricks to make your toddler eat? Please share with me.

It is said that motherhood is the toughest job on the market, but the most rewarding. It is the job/title many of us yearn for. There are so many things that come with motherhood that many of us are unaware of until it happens.

Spring is probably one of my favorite seasons! The other day, we went to Kaia’s first Easter egg hunt and it was so much fun, but it was one of the hottest, muggiest days. We decided to go to one of our favorite parks up in the mountain, because it’s always so much cooler up there. It always reminds us of California up there. The crisp air, beautiful tall trees and a different ambience. Kaia only wanted to walk on the pavement and would cry every time she had to walk on the sticks. It was so funny! Now that the weather has been so beautiful, we had to bust out one of her crop top outfits- I mean how adorable is that outfit, and it’s GINGHAM! (I got it from Miss Molly June Designs. She’s got so many other prints!) It’s one of Spring’s hottest fashion trends right now that I even ordered a gingham dress. I will have to definitely get photos of us wearing the matching prints together. (Yes, I’m that mom!)

With summer, just right around the corner, I wanted to get a little serious about sun safety for our kids. Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer and it’s due to overexposure to ultraviolet light. It’s important to not only wear sunscreen, but to wear protective clothing for maximum protection.

Finding the right stroller can be difficult. There are so many strollers out there that gear towards different lifestyles for families… The all-terrain, travel systems, full-size, urban city, jogging, umbrella, travel, etc. It always seems endless! Living in Honolulu, we wanted a stroller that was perfect for every day urban living that we could use for even traveling. We needed it to be lightweight, compact, reclined with a foot rest and large enough basket to store things.(umbrella stroller storage baskets are never big enough) After tons of research, we found one that was great for our lifestyle.

We just got back home a few weeks ago and it’s been crazy busy ever since we got home. We were gone for 3 weeks and boy, we are so happy to be back home in warm weather! Traveling with a toddler for that long, living out of a suit case is tough. Kaia is such a great traveler, so it really helped when we traveled to 3 different cities. We started our first leg of the trip in Seattle to see my dad, then went to San Francisco to see my best friend and then finished our trip in Park City for a little ski and spa time. Kaia was over the cold and snow, all she kept wanting to do was take a bath. Haha! She didn’t like the snow flurries hitting her face and getting all bundled up. She is a true island baby for sure.
