We thought it would be fun to do a blog post on the most asked questions we get while we both celebrate Mother’s Day! (A day late I know… Kathy was busy traveling with Spyder and Shape Magazine and Cindy just moved to a new city! #momlife). This was such a fun little photo shoot we did with Tahiti Huetter before Cindy moved to Miami (another island). We wanted to be candid with you all on motherhood and let’s face it, it’s rarely glamorous, but the most rewarding job in the world. Last week, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa was in town for a few days visiting his new Nobu Honolulu restaurant that just opened up in Ward Village. (That whole area is booming!) We had the great pleasure in joining him for a private sushi making class with a few others that was quite memorable to say the least. Each of us had our own little sushi-making station setup with delicious fresh fish to make nigiri and hand rolls. Nobu started off explaining that he follows a six-step process for making nigiri and let’s just say, it’s so much harder than it looks!

Spring break is here and you know what that means- BIKINI SEASON will be in full force. I’m so excited to share that I’ve been asked to be a swimwear ambassador for SwimSpot. I never would have thought in a million years that I would be modeling swimsuits to help other women in finding a suit for their body. I’m so glad that there are brands like SwimSpot that encourage us to love our bodies no matter what size or shape we are!

I’m so excited to share that I’ve officially joined the Spyder family as one of their brand ambassadors. I worked with Spyder on a recent snow trip to Deer Valley (which you can read here) and when I returned from my trip, they asked me to join the team. I’m going to be bringing a different lifestyle to the ambassador program since I live in a tropical place with their fitness/activewear, which I’m so thrilled about! We just got back home a few weeks ago and it’s been crazy busy ever since we got home. We were gone for 3 weeks and boy, we are so happy to be back home in warm weather! Traveling with a toddler for that long, living out of a suit case is tough. Kaia is such a great traveler, so it really helped when we traveled to 3 different cities. We started our first leg of the trip in Seattle to see my dad, then went to San Francisco to see my best friend and then finished our trip in Park City for a little ski and spa time. Kaia was over the cold and snow, all she kept wanting to do was take a bath. Haha! She didn’t like the snow flurries hitting her face and getting all bundled up. She is a true island baby for sure.

It’s no surprise that some of the best beauty and fashion come straight out of France. Catimini, a French children’s clothing company that has become an international brand just opened a few months ago at the new International Marketplace in Waikiki. They are best known for their playful and daring designs that are inspired by travel and cultural fusions season after season. These cute European inspired designer digs don’t come cheap, but they are definitely unique and the fun themes and prints are nothing like you have ever seen.
