We recently stayed at Four Seasons Resort Lana’i and loved our island getaway! Let’s just say, we travel to a lot of Four Seasons properties and this is one that blew us away. From the moment you get to Honolulu International Airport, you can head to the Four Seasons Lana’i lounge which is specifically for guests. It’s a beautiful posh lounge with complimentary Wi-Fi, drinks and snacks. Talk about a mini oasis right in the middle of the airport to officially kick off your vacation.

As we made a touchdown in Lana’i, a Four Seasons Resort greeter came to greet us and gather our luggage. We took a complimentary shuttle with other guests checking into the hotel to the property which was a short 15-20 minute ride down to the resort. We were instantly greeted with the warm, aloha hospitality that Hawaii is known for and each given a lei and welcome drink.

Our beautiful garden room was stunning! We were surrounded by tropical lush gardens, koi ponds and waterfalls with a private lanai. The rooms offer an Asian fusion feel with a large Zen-like bathroom. Love their deep soaking tub and separate shower for families.  Every morning, Kaia and I would walk out back while listening to the birds chirp while listening to the calming sounds of the water. It’s the perfect place to drink your morning coffee.

Every day we were at the pool and beach basking in the beautiful weather. They have two pools: an adult pool only and family friendly pool. Both offer cascading waterfalls and gorgeous views. We would start off our mornings by walking down to Hulopoe Bay Beach, which is a great untouched family beach with Four Seasons attendants setting up complimentary beach umbrellas, chairs and drinks.

The resort is home to quite a few exotic rescue birds with an on-site aviarist, Bruno. He treats these beautiful birds like they are his kids. One morning, he had KeO KeO (one of the rescue birds) on his shoulder playing the harmonica to him. It was such a sweet, beautiful moment between the two. He is quite knowledgeable and loves chatting with the guests near the family pool where he brings a few birds down where you can visit. If you’ve always wanted that tourist photo with exotic birds, this is your chance.

Four Seasons Lana’i has some of the best restaurants on property and the food is well above the quality of resorts I’ve stayed at. For breakfast, ONE FORTY offers one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever seen at a resort. The view from this restaurant is unbelievable. For lunch, Malibu Farm and The Break are great options for a poolside or an open-air bar. ONE FORTY is a must for dinner! Not only was their breakfast phenomenal, but their steaks and seafood is amazing! Since we are from Honolulu, we already visit our local NOBU, which they have on their property.

There are a lot of activities to do while visiting Four Seasons Lana’i. If you’re an avid golfer, they have a beautiful Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, Spa treatments, UTV, horseback riding and a catamaran sail to explore the beautiful island which we did. I highly recommend this with families. We had such a lovely time and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. Another highlight was their kids club. Kaia enjoyed meeting other kids that were on vacation while playing with the toys they offered. Also, if you’re wanting to catch a movie, the hotel offers free movies at the local movie theatre. We didn’t do this, but if it’s a rainy day, this is a great option! Don’t forget to look up at all the stars, it’s quite a stunning place to stargaze on Lana’i. My husband, a professional photographer took this photo of the Orion Nebula from the pool area at night.

After spending four wonderful days at Four Seasons Lana’i, this is one of my favorite properties that I hope to keep coming back to with my family. It’s a tropical oasis that is so beautifully designed and extremely tranquil. Look no further for the best relaxing vacation with your family.
