If you guys have been following my Instagram, you will know that I went on an amazing trip with Spyder Activewear and Shape Magazine two weeks ago. (It was a pinch me moment for sure!) Amie Engerbretson who is a professional skier sponsored by Spyder, hosted us to a fab weekend in her hometown- Squaw Valley. Tahoe was one place that I’ve never been to that I’ve always wanted to visit. Flying in from Honolulu was a trek, but so worth all the planes and automobiles to get to our cabin for the fun-filled, bucket list weekend.
We thought it would be fun to do a blog post on the most asked questions we get while we both celebrate Mother’s Day! (A day late I know… Kathy was busy traveling with Spyder and Shape Magazine and Cindy just moved to a new city! #momlife). This was such a fun little photo shoot we did with Tahiti Huetter before Cindy moved to Miami (another island). We wanted to be candid with you all on motherhood and let’s face it, it’s rarely glamorous, but the most rewarding job in the world. Cheers to all you mom figures in the world, you make the world go around!
We’re so excited to feature these two badass moms, Luisana Mendoza Roccia and Sylvana Durrett, co-founders of a new children’s online retailer- Maisonette. You know when these two former coworkers at Vogue saw a demand for sustainable and stylish luxury clothes for kids in the American market, they were going to nail it with their international power house brands that make it convenient for you to shop as if you were walking on the streets in Paris. Maisonette is a one-stop shop from kids clothing, home decor to furniture for children ages 0-12 and offers the best children’s brands from all over the world. Let’s meet these two beautiful mamas, Luisana and Sylvana as they give us the scoop on their new success with Maisonette and motherhood.
So as you can tell, I’ve been a little obsessed with the off the shoulder styles, especially in swimwear. I think it’s so fun and chic! Not only is the off the shoulder styles trending, but so is the chambray style and love this Splendid chambray bikini from SwimSpot. The material is super soft like how all Splendid clothing is like.
Last week, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa was in town for a few days visiting his new Nobu Honolulu restaurant that just opened up in Ward Village. (That whole area is booming!) We had the great pleasure in joining him for a private sushi making class with a few others that was quite memorable to say the least. Each of us had our own little sushi-making station setup with delicious fresh fish to make nigiri and hand rolls. Nobu started off explaining that he follows a six-step process for making nigiri and let’s just say, it’s so much harder than it looks!
We are so excited to feature Jamie Cantalupo, the President of Nook Sleep Systems as one of our amazing #BOSSLADY mama’s this week. You have probably seen Nook products grace the covers of People Magazine for celeb nursery design reveals and with a huge cult following like ourselves, this is a brand that should be in every home as it grows with your family. Not only is Jamie a gorgeous mama to three beautiful girls, she helps create the most innovative, organic products that all started with babies to make mattresses breathable and non-toxic. Over the years, it has expanded to toddlers, adults and even stylish home decor.
You all know we are beauty obsessed! We could probably open our own pop-up shop if we wanted to and have tried so many beauty products out there. Since at a young age, our Korean mother has always taught us the importance of a daily skincare beauty regimen that we still live by. We have used the 12+ Korean step routine, but let’s be real… We are mama’s who need a fast and easy daily routine that we can manage. For the last 4 years, MUN has always been a favorite (Aknari brightening serum that we always rave about!), so when they added a cleanser and toner to their line, we had to try it.
Spring is probably one of my favorite seasons! The other day, we went to Kaia’s first Easter egg hunt and it was so much fun, but it was one of the hottest, muggiest days. We decided to go to one of our favorite parks up in the mountain, because it’s always so much cooler up there. It always reminds us of California up there. The crisp air, beautiful tall trees and a different ambience. Kaia only wanted to walk on the pavement and would cry every time she had to walk on the sticks. It was so funny! Now that the weather has been so beautiful, we had to bust out one of her crop top outfits- I mean how adorable is that outfit, and it’s GINGHAM! (I got it from Miss Molly June Designs. She’s got so many other prints!) It’s one of Spring’s hottest fashion trends right now that I even ordered a gingham dress. I will have to definitely get photos of us wearing the matching prints together. (Yes, I’m that mom!)
