Now that Kaia is a little older, we’ve really been making time to spend more time outside. Before she was born, we were always outdoors doing something and we are slowly getting back to that. I really miss swimming, which we are starting back up as Kaia starts her first swim lessons next month! There is a little park down in our neighborhood that we try to go to so we can get out of the house, let our dog run around and Kaia loves the wind blowing in her face.

Now that I’ve been breastfeeding Kaia for 8 months, I’ve really had some practice at breastfeeding at home and in public. In the beginning, I was so terrified that I wouldn’t be able to find a private area for my hungry, screaming baby to breastfeed at. It was such a challenge in the beginning to find easy access everyday wearable clothing, without taking off my entire top. It was such a dilemma and frustrating doing this in a public bathroom and on top of a crying baby.

With Mother’s Day coming up and experiencing my first as a new mommy, I wanted to share things that I’ve learned so far. Motherhood is a life changing experience. There is no book or class that could have prepared me for this role. Everything has been a trial and error and every day I’m learning how to become a better mother.
