As a first time mother, getting my body back has been a challenge. I was able to lose the majority of the baby weight after giving birth; it was just now finding the motivation and time to actually tone it all up, like my tummy. I’ve always had a pretty flat and toned stomach, but noticed that my body definitely changed after having a baby. My tummy wasn’t as firm and sculpted as it used to be. With a few things that I have incorporated into my every day fitness and health, I wanted to share 5 tips that I’ve been doing that have helped me banish some of that baby belly for more of a toned, sculpted abdomen.
Happy December! Time is flying so fast and speaking of that, my little Kaia bear is officially 3 months old! It’s been the best 3 months of my life and really enjoying mommyhood with my mini me. As a new mom, I’ve been trying to find a balance in our routine and finding time during the day to get in a workout. Any new mom’s feeling this way too? It’s definitely been challenging, but I’ve been using the Stokke MyCarrier Cool, which is a baby carrier and allows me to go hands free and get things done, including walking on the beach. (My current workout and I can even do lunges on the sand while wearing this!)
Now that I’m 6 months pregnant, I’ve had to size up my clothing to comfortably dress for my growing bump. Every morning I wake up and look at my tummy to see how much it’s grown overnight. Ha! It’s so exciting to see and feeling her move is pretty amazing. (As she’s kicking me now!) I’ve really been trying to stay fit and healthy during my pregnancy with lots of swimming and yoga.
I’m so excited to share that I will be representing Lucy Activewear this weekend at Wanderlust Festival Oahu. Be sure to follow @LucyActivewear on instagram as I takeover tomorrow-Saturday at this fun event. Being a local, I shared some of my favorite beaches, eats and adventures near where Wanderlust will be held on Lucy’s blog.
With the holidays in full gear, tis’ the season of holiday weight gain… It’s always the hardest time of year to stay focused on the healthy path when there are endless holiday parties, drinking chestnut praline lattes with friends and eating those baked goodies grandma just sent. This year, we decided that we weren’t going to let that holiday weight gain creep up on us. Cindy has been religiously working out with a trainer, so that she has to be accountable and show up to her early 5 a.m. sessions, while I (Kathy) have been working out anywhere outdoors, as I’ve got the beach as my backyard. (I know, what a tough life in Hawaii!) J
